Working alongside Gateshead Council, we’ll be transforming a disused garage site into five modern, two-bed bungalows, turning overlooked land into sustainable homes that strengthen communities. Penrith Grove in High Fell is one of the first schemes to get underway as part of Gateshead Council’s plan to deliver 500 homes, and perfectly showcases the HUSK blueprint of sustainable housing.

The homes will be highly energy-efficient, featuring air source heat pumps to reduce energy bills and meet future standards. Designed with accessibility in mind, they can be adapted to support residents throughout their lives, making them ideal for long-term, affordable living.

Planning permission was granted in April 2025, with work set to begin in Spring 2026 and construction expected to take around eight months. Once complete, the homes will be available for social rent, supporting local people most in need.
