HUSK appoints Ellen Hagan as Construction and Partnerships Director

HUSK appoints Ellen Hagan as Construction and Partnerships Director.

Ellen joins the team at a pivotal time, having just secured its first housing project in Scotland and creating 48 new bungalows across the North East.

In her new role, Ellen will serve as the leading face of the business, further strengthening HUSK’s reputation as a solution for true regeneration amongst local authorities and social housing providers across the region and beyond.

With a background in civil engineering, strong relationships, and a proven track record of success in the construction sector, Ellen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the HUSK team.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining the team and becoming a part of something with genuine purpose and a commitment to making a positive impact within the UK housing crisis,” said Ellen.

“As Construction and Partnership Director, I look forward to leveraging my vast construction experience and my passion for problem-solving to strengthen relationships within the industry and drive the company’s success.”

“After witnessing the transformative impact HUSK has had on communities across our region—providing warmer, healthier, and more accessible homes while simultaneously enhancing our communities by eliminating sites prone to antisocial behavior—I am eager to contribute to the next chapter of their inspiring journey.”

Her previous roles at Gus Robinson Developments and Adderstone Living have provided her with invaluable insights into the industry, making her well equipped to drive growth and innovation.

“We are delighted to welcome Ellen to the HUSK team,” said Russell Edwards, MD and founder of HUSK. “Her extensive experience and proven leadership abilities make her the perfect fit for this role. We are confident that Ellen will play a key role in driving our company forward and achieving our long-term goals.”

With a focus on innovation and sustainability, HUSK is committed to building communities that are both environmentally conscious and socially responsible.

The UK is littered with garage units, often sitting in multiple blocks that are underused and generate little revenue.

Using HUSK’s innovative approach to regenerate the unused garages, the process retains the shell and concrete floors, and carefully reconfigures a terrace of garages into a single space and restructure it fully. The back and side walls remain in place and we remove the roof to lower in the bungalow, built to spec off site, into the void.

HUSK offer a range of one and two bedroom bungalows with a fully serviced kitchen, bathroom and living and dining space. All homes are designed to meet the relevant industry standards and requirements and benefit from the latest energy efficiency products and features including PV panels and air source heat pumps.
